The 2019 Clear Access Clear Waters Award

In November 2018 British Canoeing launched its Clear Access Clear Waters campaign with the aim of promoting “fair, shared, sustainable open access” to English waters, all backed with a code of conduct that would ensure responsible behaviour. You can read more about this on the British Canoeing website.

Here at Peak UK we are passionate about river access, living as we do in an area with plenty of water, but with very little access to said water. We are also involved with arranging and participating in local river clean ups.

So when the opportunity to sponsor the Clear Access Clear Waters prize at this year's British Canoeing Volunteer Awards, we jumped at the chance. The annual awards ceremony was held at Eastwood Hall, near Nottingham, last weekend and Pete went along to present the winner of the award, Andy Garlik, with his well earned prize - a unique custom printed PFD.

A huge well done to Andy and all the other winners at the weekend, and a big thanks to the British Canoeing team for another great event.

See you next year!
