A Day on the Lakes with Paddle Nepal | Alexander Adventures
There are some days that stand out long after the boards are packed away—and today was absolutely one of them. I spent a full day out on the lakes with the Paddle Nepal team, helping them develop their paddleboarding skills with warm water under our boards and the Himalayas rising in the distance. It was the kind of day that reminds me exactly why I love coaching.

From the moment we launched in the morning, the energy was brilliant. The lake was calm, the sun already warming the air, and the team were buzzing to get started. Even in a single day, we managed to fit in a lot: refining forward strokes, practising rescue techniques, digging into edging, and having some fun with pivot turns. With views like that and a team so keen to learn, the hours flew by.

The Right Kit for a Full Day on the Water
Spending a whole day coaching means relying on kit that stays comfortable, durable, and functional from morning chill to afternoon heat. My Peak PS setup didn’t miss a beat.
Wrapid Guide PFD (Available very soon!)
The River Guide PFD was spot-on all day. It fits securely without restricting any movement—ideal for demonstrating strokes, towing boards, or scrambling back on when you’re showing rescues. The pocket space is a real bonus, letting me keep radios, tools, and snacks within easy reach.

Bagz H2O & Thermal Rashy Pants Legwear
Even with warm water, mornings on the lake can be fresh. The legwear kept me comfortable as temperatures shifted, and the flexibility made it easy to move naturally—kneeling, stepping around boards, and coaching hands-on without any restriction.

DBS Boots
A full day of SUP coaching means constant shifting of weight and balance, and the DBS boots were ideal. Solid grip on wet boards, great ankle support, and—most importantly—comfortable right through to the final session. No rubbing, no slipping, no faff.

Big Progress in Just One Day
The Paddle Nepal team made huge strides today. By the afternoon, everyone was edging more confidently, powering their strokes more efficiently, and spinning boards with far more control. Their attitude made the whole day flow—lots of learning, lots of laughs, and plenty of time floating in the sun admiring those mountain views. It might have been just one day, but it delivered everything I love about this job: motivated paddlers, stunning scenery, warm water, and kit that lets me focus purely on teaching. With the Himalayas watching over us, it felt like a pretty perfect day on the water.
I’ll definitely be back for more days like this—and I’m already looking forward to it.
