I started paddling in 2004 on a social speed canoeing project in my city, because many children drowned in the river that coasts the city in the middle they implemented this project that became the city's success. In 2006 I met Slalom and fell in love with that feeling of freedom and adrenaline. I joined the national team for the first time in 2008 and in 2012 at the age of 18 I saw my world fall apart from the London Olympics by 0.13 and with a touch on the last gate, I cried a lot seeing a dream being distant for so little.
4 years later I made history being the first Brazilian to reach the Olympic final, finishing in sixth place in front of my people.I feel very honored to make history in a sport made for Europeans, last year I won my first bronze medal in the world cup (Slovenia) and that makes me motivated and confident for the Olympic Games in Tokyo 2021.What motivates me is the contact with nature, living canoeing in its purest form, paddling in natural rivers and being happy in the water, I am currently number 1 in the world ranking in extreme kayak that was part of the Olympic program for Paris 2024.
Training doesn't have to be boring, it can be fun and enjoyable!
