Franz Anton's medal winning start to season

With a busy start to the 2022 racing season Franz shares with us how he's been performing since a tough Team Selection series...

"My struggle after the national selection is, that I’m loosing a bit of my focus. When I have made it into the team the next big goal are the World Championships because they are the only race that counts for funding etc. After the national selection race I’m in a kind of recover/relax mood, but the Euros are usually just one or two weeks after it and so I’m not in my race mood. But this year was different :) I could keep my focus, maybe because of the Worlds being so early this year, but I felt good in Liptovsky and was happy with my 5th place in individual and Gold in the Team Race with Sideris Tasiadis and Timo Trummer."

"The World Ranking Race in Augsburg was also decent, I started with the second fastest time but too many touches, but I was confident with my pace and I could improve every run and had a clean final run and again the second fastest time behind Sideris. So I’m looking forward to the Worlds in Augsburg and skip the World Cups in Krakow and Tacen and will have some training in Augsburg instead."
