Welcome to the team!
We would like to welcome Franz Anton and Hannes Aigner onto our Peak UK team.
Here at Peak UK we are proud of our kit, and believe it to be the best in the world. This is a belief backed up by the fact that some of the worlds best paddlers use it at the top end of competitions. Earlier this both Franz and Hannes won the world championships out in Rio, Brazil, wearing their custom Racer ST’s.
Franz Anton won the C1 mens category, thus joined a very elite club of those that have won World titles in multiple disciplines. Franz won the C2 title back in 2015, with his partner Jan Benzien . After narrowly missing out on a medal at Rio 2016, Franz returned to the same course this year to claim his C1 world title. After he joined this elite club we had to invite him onto our team, and welcome him into the family. Franz is a dedicated C1 paddler who is racking up quite a medal count! He is also a keen photographer, so keep an eye out for his shots.
The winner of the K1 mens category was Hannes Aigner, another talented German paddler. This was Hannes first individual gold medal at a world championships, but he has picked up a few in the team event in previous years. We met up with Hannes at Paddle expo earlier this year and instantly liked him and it wasn’t long before we offered him a place on our team. Hannes has proven himself on the world stage time and time again, with a bronze at London 2012, narrowly missing a medal at Rio 2016, and winning gold at the 2018 world championships. With Tokyo 2020 just around the corner he is one to watch.
So a warm welcome to our two new Peak UK team members Franz Anton and Hannes Aigner! Make sure you keep an eye on them as we are sure they will be up to great things with 2020 around the corner!
