Ben Haylett Joins Peak PS

We are incredibly excited to welcome the reigning K1M U23 European Champion, Ben Haylett, to our prestigious UK Slalom team.

Ben is a young, talented, exciting paddler who has been a regular in major finals at U23 level - culminating earlier this year in securing the European U23 title, in Krakow Poland.

Originally from Derbyshire, Ben developed his skills and love for canoe slalom with Holme Pierrepont Canoe Club, based at the National Watersport Centre in Nottingham. Now living close to the Lee Valley Whitewater centre in London and having enjoyed the taste of World Cup senior start lines in 2024, Ben has his targets firmly set on selection to the 2025 British Senior K1M team.

Over the last year we’ve enjoyed Ben joining us for both a Paddle Peak club evening and helping out at our Cromford Peak Challenge event. On both occasions Ben was a model paddlesports ambassador - helpful in organisation, engaging and encouraging of the young paddlers on the water, whilst at the same time showcasing some classy skills of his own; that the kids spent the next few club sessions trying hard to emulate! We look forward to welcoming Ben back for more Paddle Peak sessions very soon.

In his relatively short international career, Ben has amounted quite the list of results: U23 European Champion 2024, U23 Teams European Champions 2024, 3 x U23 World Championships Finalist, U23 Teams World Champions 2019 and 2x Senior British Champion!!
