Girls in kayaks – Whatever next? And not just any kayaks, Riots!! 'The Flair' is a rather popular choice among top British lady padders – and not just for its dynamic performance and smooth edge control. No, the ladies love this boat for its seducible lime green colour and the ability to make them look good.
It's so compulsive that our top British ladies all have one. Lowri Davies, Lynsey Evans, Claire O’Hara and Jenny Chrimes have all been signed onto the Riot-Peak UK team for 2007 and are sporting the latest kayak trend of the lime green Flair.
The team is already proving a tough one to beat...
Lowri Davies, Originally from Wales and currently studying at Aberystwyth University, was crowned top ladies at this years European and British championships. She has also guaranteed her place as reserve on the 2007 British freestyle team for Buseater in Canada.
Lynsey Evans has shown us another consistent season finishing Second in Europe and a respectable third at the British championships. Not only is Lynsey a super freestyle star but also a strong creeker pulling in a respectable First place in both the liquid life competition held in Scotland and The Sweet Rumble at the Soja Fest out in Norway last year.
2007’s GB team selection events held in Nottingham saw both the ladies category and ladies squirt dominated by Claire O’Hara who flew through both events to claim first place in each. Claire is currently training on the White Nile in Uganda with Peak UK team mates Jenny and Luynsey in preparation for the worlds next year.
Current junior world champion Jenny Chrimes made a smooth transition to the senior category this year, gaining second place at this year’s British Championships, which was held on local ground at Holme Pierrepont. Jenny was pre-selected onto the 2007 British Freestyle Team following her success at the last worlds held out in Australia in 2005 and is looking forwards to a challenging year ahead competing against the seniors.
A big well done to all the girls on the Riot-Peak team and congratulations to everyone who made the GBR Freestyle squad and good luck for the worlds 2007.
