Fabian Alejandro at Sickline 2010

I went Austria Tirol- Oztal to the race call Adidas sick line the extreme kayak world championship on the river otz (wellerbrucker seccion class VI)

I went with few friends also competitors one is from Ireland and the other is from Turkey. over there my team mate (representing Argentina) Silvio Gurrieri was waiting for me on Sunday 26th Sep. Like this we have a lot of time to see the race track and find the faster and smoother lines.

Every day we went back to the house that we rent for the all week to cook a very good dinner and have a sauna session and a good night!!

continuing, on Wednesday we did the last practice for about one hour (the river at that moment had 1.80 more or less) and relax.

On thursday we only went to see the section and we find a few kayaker doing the last practice which was very positive as we saw the whole picture from outside.

The qualification day, was particularly the most important for me as last year ending on the 68th position and i could not rank for the last fifty competitor. well, this time i have to do it. i told myself... i did my my 1th run very clean out of mistake“s, a progressive long spring. that was enough slow to be in the rank number 36th

then the 2nd run i tried to paddle faster over the flat area but i guess i was a bit pressed by the anxiety. the time was 1.26.13 just 0.00.04 hundredths slower. i have spend way more energy and so on and so on. anyway i shoud have try to be more smooth and not to be anxious ;) i know it is to late to complaining...

Anyway i was very very happy to be in the first fifty.

On saturday i was feeling very well, i had a good breakfast! then i put my gear, i took my kayak and i went straight to the put in on the race track ( wellerbrucke rapids is one of the most dificult white water sections in the world) and i have my warm up on 5degree celcious water.

My race run was against a German young slalom kayaker ( tha classic game, Argentina vs. Germany) well i had my worse run (1.12.86) and he did a very good time (1,02,37) which means that was the end of my race.

After all this i am feeling more motivated for my result and i want to keep learning and getting faster and farther :)

I have to say that i am very thanks to peak UK to keep me dry during all week!!!

until the next time.
