British Raft Teams Training for Worlds

After returning from the European Championships with 3 medals between them, Great Britain Men’s and Ladies Raft Teams are straight back into training in preparation for the Worlds.

The 2010 World Championships are being held at Dutch Water Dreams, Holland – the first competition to be held on a man-made course. This is a move to make the sport more Olympic friendly for possible future development. It also means that the rafts are smaller and more maneuverable, reducing team sizes to 4 people.

Both Men’s and Ladies teams will be heading out from 12th-18th July alongside the British Youth Teams. This event will also host the first ever Youth World Rafting Championships and is a huge step forward in the sport. For this year only, teams will be made up of 16-21 year olds, with this age band decreasing to 16-18 year olds in the future.

Good Luck to all Teams attending!
