The GB PeakUK Slalom Squad has just finished an awesome weekend of racing at World Cup Race 2 in Augsburg, Germany.

On Saturday the C2 rippers Nick Smith and Stuart Bowman cuffed Olympic Champions, the Hochschorner Borthers from Slovakia, into 4th place and took the BRONZE medal! The race was won by local specialists Becker/Henze from Germany with a Czech crew Volf/Stepanek in silver also sporting PeakUK race wear.

In the mens kayak race Rich Hounslow showed continued improvement with a slightly clumsy touch and a small time error costing him a place in the final, he'll have it next time!

Today was the Ladies and C1 semis and finals and shall be henceforth known as Golden Sunday! Both Laura Blakeman and Dave Florence had amazing semi-final runs to sit in bronze medal position going into the final run. Unfortunately Laura's finals run wasn't quite as good and she slipped to a still impressive 8th. Dave on the other hand had a blinding second run to eclipse the dominant German boats and take the Gold Medal from them on their own course! Ahhh... it feels so good!
